Thank you for choosing Fusion Dental for your dental care needs. A healthy smile is so important to your overall health. Taking care of any problems today will help you avoid serious and expensive health issues later.
Fusion Dental wants to do everything possible to make sure that your first visits to our offices are as easy as possible.
Your first visit will include:
-
Registration - When you arrive for your first visit you will fill out your registration forms so that we can get to know you and your health history better. Please bring your insurance card and identification. Plan to arrive ten minutes ahead of your scheduled appointment. At this time we will discuss your insurance information and develop your patient chart.
-
X-rays - It is necessary to use a dental radiograph to see directly between the teeth or under the gums or bone. Dental x-rays can detect disease much sooner than a clinical examination and often before any symptoms arise. This enables the dentist to identify problems early and minimize treatments. New x-rays will be taken unless you are able to bring current, high quality copies.
-
Dental Examination and Recommended Treatment Plan - Your dentist will review the x-rays, examine your teeth and gums and discuss any recommended treatment.
-
Preventative cleaning - If your initial visit includes a dental cleaning, the dental hygienist will clean and polish your teeth to remove any plaque, a sticky film of bacteria on the teeth that produces acid and causes tooth decay. The hygienist will also review the proper flossing technique and answer any questions about preventing cavities and gum disease.
-
Schedule Your Next Appointment - It is important to schedule a visit to the office for a hygiene appointment every six months. The dentist may recommend more or less frequent appointments depending on your age, lifestyle, risk factors, and general oral and dental health.
